Lexmark Prevail Pro702 Driver. A lively equipped 4-in-1 office printer. The Lexmark has expanded its printer portfolio for offices with a lush 4-in-1 multifunction printer. The Prevail Pro702 is part of the Professional series, which is primarily aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises, home offices and private users with a regularly high print volume. The equipment of the printer is therefore tailored to this target group and the work waiting there for it and also attracts with a relatively low price. Currently, the Prevail Pro705 is around 210 euros. The fax function (33.6 Kbps) as well as the WLAN module, which already has the future-proof new standard 802.11 / n, are opening up the equipment range. There is also an automatic document feed for 50 sheets as well as duplex printing on board. The Prevail Pro705 automatically prints, copies and faxes on both sides in a special energy-saving mode, which is activated on push-button printing, thereby contributing to the cost reduction in companies. A card reader for the most common memory cards, Pictbridge and a USB interface also enable PC-independent printing. But as time means paper money, the Prevail Pro705 is designed for large print jobs with a high printing speed. According to Lexmark, it reaches up to 33/30 pages per minute in the design mode, in the normal mode it should be 16/10 (based on B / W, color).

The Lexmark Prevail Pro702 printer itself, as Lexmark also insures, also delivers a high quality thanks to a new technology. The slightly worse equipped small brother Prospect Pro205 has already confirmed this in a test. The magazine “PC Welt” confirms to him a convincing performance in terms of text print as well as in documents mixed from text, graphics and photos. Unfortunately, Lexmark has refrained from making the Prevail Pro 705 compatible with the high-yielding black ink cartridge 105XL, which will provide the next- generation Prestige Pro805 and Platinum Pro905 for side costs by 1 cent. In the above-mentioned “PC World” test, for example, the Prospect Pro 205 came only at the price of 4.3 cents which is not an outstanding value for an inkjet printer. Whether this result can also be transferred to the Prevail Pro705 1: 1, further tests still have to be confirmed. However, since this is the same in both printers, this is unfortunately to be expected. However, if this were the case, then Lexmark would not have fully achieved the goal of providing a multifunction printer for relatively high print volumes, and unfortunately again confirmed the prejudice that Lexmark printers offer a good quality with respect to the cost of the competition still lagging behind.
